As political tensions rise, these groups employ various tactics, including organized protests, to close down the establishment where Hilda has found her new home. The struggle against the brothel becomes a focal point for the community, reflecting broader societal conflicts. Amidst this turmoil, a young novice named Friar Maltus emerges as a key figure, leading a procession aimed at casting out what he perceives as the evil within Hilda.
